Gaza Massacre

Two weeks under fire and still no end in sight. Troops pushed deeper into Gaza in a day of fierce fighting on Sunday as Israel ignored continuing global protests. Civilians again fell victim to Israel's brutal offensive that has left more than 900 people dead in the 16-day-old war, including 275 children. At least a quarter to one-third of deaths to date have been children.Unlike other conflicts where there's a chance to flee the war zone. There's nowhere else for the population to go. An example is the recent Israel attack near a United Nations school in Gaza, killing more than 40 among the hundreds who had sought refuge at the school from the fighting.

No Heroe

Prince Harry returned to Britain on March 1, 2008 after his 10-week stint serving in Afghanistan was cut short by media disclosure of his secret deployment. Harry, soldier prince, third in line to the British throne, a second lieutenant, was withdrawn from his deployment after the once closely guarded secret became public.

His mission had previously gone undisclosed under an agreement between the Ministry of Defence and major news organizations designed to protect the 23-year-old prince and his fellow soldiers.

According to a report, Taliban intelligence knew of the prince's presence, despite the media blackout and its deputy commander, Mullah Abdul Karim, had received an urgent message from Taliban intelligence in late December or early January that "an important chicken" had joined British troops in his area of operations. Karim sent his men hunting for the prince. "He is our special enemy" he said. "Our first option was to capture him and the second to kill him"
